Breed: Arabian

Age: 29

Gender: Mare

Renee came to rescue as a sanctuary mare, and was able to live out the remainder of her natural life in rescue. At the recommendation of our veterinarian Renee was humanely euthanized on 10/9/2014 due to complications with advanced arthritis. She was surrounded with loving care by her foster family, and is buried at a beautiful site on their farm. A memorial of tulips and daffodils has been planted at Renee’s grave.

Renee came to rescue with her lifelong friend Zaranna.  Their owner had them for their entire life, but was suffering from dementia and headed to hospice.  We were able to arrange to be the foster home for her horses and donkey which provided a great deal of peace and comfort to her family at this difficult time.  Renee and Zaranna our in our Sanctuary program.  Their daughters–Robin and Shar are both adoptable.  Each of these 4 girls are broke to ride, and have sweet and gentle temperments.

Renee will live the rest of her life at our Pegram foster farm.  The family has 3 little girls that can enjoy riding Renee for as long as she is healthy and sound enough for activity, and when she needs to enter full retirement, they will shower her with love and kisses so she will know she is always valued.
