Breed: Tennessee Walking Horse
Jake is a gentle giant, descendant of Midnight Sun. He is an adorably sweet older guy, with the years of experience to make him a perfect beginner or child’s horse. Jake actually participated in Safe Harbor’s Children’s Horsemanship Camp during Summer of 2014, and was ridden by children who had no prior horse experience. He is a proven “babysitter”.
Because of Jake’s age, he has some limitations–he really needs to be ridden gently, and shouldn’t go on marathon train rides. Riding around the farm, or even going on gentle trail rides of a few miles are just fine. He is sound, but more likely to get tired sooner than horses younger than him. He eats a soaked high fat feed (currently Purina Omolene 300 and Oats), and takes a daily joint supplement.
Jakes adoption fee is only $150 due to his age, but we are seeking a spectacular home for this special senior boy.
