Sweet Serenata

Serenata is a 16.1HH 2001 Standardbred Mare.  She was adopted out, but her needs were not met in her adoptive home. Serenata returned to us underweight and in pain.   Thankfully all issues were fixable, and Serenata still has a bright future ahead of her.

Serenata is an absolute gem for an intermediate rider.  Prior to her first adoption she had entered the lesson program with one of our training center trainers, and was working beautifully at w/t including over cross rails.

She does need an owner that is not intimidated by a large horse or a stride with a lot of suspension.  She requires quality hoof trims with shoeing and high quality food. In rescue she eats Tribute Kalm Ultra at a feeding schedule of 4lbs morning, noon and evening (12lbs a day).  This could be dropped to 5lbs am and pm for a twice a day feeding schedule, but she is a former race horse, and therefore has a high metabolism and cannot be on low quality feed or limited feed.  Her health will suffer as a result, so she will only be adopted out to a home that is committed to meeting her needs as part of the partnership of horse ownership.

Serenata can definitely perform at schooling shows, and would make a great lesson horse or horse for a novice horseman or woman who needs a reliable and beautiful horse with substantial size to begin competing with.  Her adoption fee is $750.
