June

June is an approx 17 year old Saddlebred Mare who is blind…

But that is not the end of her story.  June came to rescue emaciated, but is being responsibly refed and trained at Ride for the Cross Ministries.  Ride for the Cross specializes in the retraining of blind horses, and head trainer there, Bobby Nidever holds clinics on Blind Horsemanship.  Blindness does not have to be the end, and June is showing that to the world with her progress with Bobby.  She is being taught to recognize the world by ear instead of by sight so she can once again be calm and safe under saddle.  Safety is about the trust relationship between horse and rider even with sighted horses.

June will require a special home; willing to work with Bobby for a safe transition once June is cleared for adoption.  Her adoption fee is waived to the right home.  Apply to adopt if you have a place in your heart, and a desire to make a difference for a beautiful special needs girl.
