DC’S PIGGY BANK (5A679, G)   Prior name: SM’S LIGHTNING BANKER HALL – HT’S SWEETIEPIE – BJ’S MAC GENERAL INFORMATION Foaling Date: 02/18/2003 Sex: Gelding Foaling Place: CREAM RIDGE NJ Color: Bay Tattoo: Freezebrand: 5A679 Death Date: Embryo Transfer: Markings: SMALL STAR. Parent Verified: Yes Eligibility: US – Trot DC is a true warhorse, having won more than $588,000 on the track in a career than spanned 10 full seasons of racing. From the track, he went to the Amish, and then ended up in the situation you hope a horse this special never ends up in – the Standardbred Retirement Foundation found him in Bastrop, LA, owned by a kill buyer. They networked to find his previous connections, who stepped up to save him from a horrible fate.  DC was lame upon arrival to Safe Harbor with a recent but healing bowed tendon in his right hind. As of July 15, DC has been cleared by our vet for light riding. He is sound and happy to give rides around the farm. He is not recommended for long or strenuous trail rides or performance events at this time. A PPE is welcomed by your own veterinarian, if desired. DC has a big, swinging walk and he is uncomplicated to ride. He will gait and trot, but will need time to build up muscle to do much of either. He has natural curiosity and does need a rider who can be a leader. On the ground, DC is completely beginner safe. His farrier says he’s the easiest horse he does, he has great feet, loves grooming, baths, and love. He pastures fine with mares or geldings. Due only to his limitations, DC has an adoption fee of $400....

JoeBabe

JoeBabe

JoeBabe. 2012 More Than Ready – Brief Bliss, by Navarone JoeBabe is spectacular.  Big (17 hand) beautiful bay, retired unraced.  JoeBabe was pointed toward foxhunting as a second career, but he craves structure.  He LOVES arena work, and does not enjoy working out in the big wide world.  He would be a phenomenal mount for an amateur dressage rider.  For the experienced rider he could get right into show season.  Hunter Jumper is also an option for this beauty.  He’s great in the arena and sound for jumping. JoeBabe has an excellent personality with no vices.  He’s a solid, remarkable horse.  PPE welcomed. JoeBabe’s adoption fee is $3,500. Apply today! Henry Gram

HENRY GRAM (2D968, G) HENRY CLAY – LEXIE GRAM – SWAT TEAM   GENERAL INFORMATION Foaling Date: 02/25/2006 Sex: Gelding Foaling Place: SALEM, IL Color: Bay Tattoo: Freezebrand: 2D968 Death Date: Embryo Transfer: Markings: STAR; STRIP CONNECTING SNIP; LEFT FRONT CORONET; LEFT HIND PASTERN WHITE. Parent Verified: Yes Eligibility: US – Pace Henry Gram; born Feb 25, 2006 is an Off Track Standardbred with over $200K in lifetime earnings.  He was actively racing until late 2017.  Henry had a goat buddy when he was on track, and was well-loved by all who worked with him. Henry is one of those horses that breaks your heart. We know where he was his entire life, except for the last three months of 2017. In January, 2018, he turned up owned by a kill buyer, where the Standardbred Retirement Foundation found him. One of his grooms who adored him paid to save him from a terrible fate, and he arrived at Safe Harbor in February. Upon arrival, he was at least 250 pounds underweight, stressed and still in race mode. It has taken several months of food, pampering and love from his foster mom to get him to a good weight, but Henry’s problems don’t end there. At age 12, he has the body of a 30 year old. Henry has arthritis in all 4 fetlocks and some tendon damage from his years of racing. He is beginner broke to ride and gaited, but he will require an owner willing to maintain his comfort with Legend/Adequan, spa days, and etc. Short rides around the farm would be perfect for him and he does enjoy feeling useful. Henry pastures fine with mares or geldings. He will do best on 24/7 turnout with access to shelter. Henry has a huge personality and needs an owner who will maintain a leadership position on the ground, as he can be pushy. He is wonderful for grooming, baths, and routine care. His adoption fee is well below our “After the Track” minimum due to his care requirements, at $200.  If you can give him the fairytale happily ever after he is looking for, apply to adopt today!  ...
