Liz

Liz

At almost 30 this little mini mare is just ready for peace and TLC.  Liz came to rescue after her owner passed away, and she was left behind, and starving.  She is on the mend now, and enjoys a quiet pace of life with food, brushing, and not too much activity.  She will be an excellent first pony for responsible little kids to learn to handle and brush on, or a great companion to someone who simply wants a pony to adore.  Liz could not get much easier to care for.  She leads well, does great in stall, and doesn’t ask for more than food and love.  Liz’ adoption fee is reduced during our A Pony For Christmas Promotion.  Apply to adopt by 12/31 and bring her home for only a $50 adoption...

Sweet Pea

SWEET PEA IS PART OF OUR “A PONY FOR CHRISTMAS” ADOPTION FEE SPECIAL!  Apply to adopt Sweet Pea between now and 12/31/17 and her adoption fee will be reduced to $50! Easy Keeper, Small, Child Friendly–all describe Sweet Pea.  This little lead line pony is ready for happily ever after.  She came to rescue with a founder history, and she does need to be treated as a founder pony–dry lot preferred, limited access to grass, and focus on hoof care.  The plus side of this is Sweet Pea practically maintains her weight on air, so a quality hay is really all she needs to maintain weight.  Her cost of ownership is therefore quite low.  Sweet Pea has been handled by young children in rescue, and will happily walk a child on lead line.  Her adoption fee is only $150. Sweet Pea is a senior pony with special needs in regard to dietary restrictions.  Please do take this into account when applying to adopt, but know that you’ll have a gem of a pony for your family if you can meet her special...

Super Luke

Super Luke

Welcome Super Luke to Safe Harbor.  This 2013 16.2 OTTB raced 1 time.  He sold as a 2 year old for $300,000, and he’s the grandson of Mr. Prospector and the son of Acey Deucey.  Super Luke didn’t race fast—he’s in the “My Thoroughbred was slower than Your Thoroughbred” club.  He wants to be a quarterhorse when he grows up, and he shows that off with a lovely slow Western Jog.  In his after the track training, this big guy is being trained by Mountain Creek Farm under the skilled hand of head trainer Courtney Alexander with finishing discipline leaning towards trail and western pleasure.  He has a great work ethic and loves to be focused and learning new things. Super Luke’s after the track adoption fee is $2,000.  Apply to adopt and bring home this lovely gem to grace your barn.  You’ll be glad you...
