Our FINAL Orientation of 2014 is just around the corner! What: Safe Harbor Equine & Livestock Sanctuary Volunteer Orientation When: 2:00 PM on November 2, 2014 Where: Gallatin, TN (Address will be provided once we receive your volunteer registration) Do you want to learn more about Safe Harbor?  Would you like to find out how you can volunteer hands on with the horses, help our foster farms, and get horses on the road to recovery?  Then take a moment to fill out our volunteer application, and come on out to Volunteer Orientation!  We’ll talk about all sorts of volunteer opportunities, walk the property, and meet the horses. Orientation takes about 2 hours and is appropriate for all skill levels of adults.  Everyone will be asked to sign a liability waiver before entering the pasture. PLEASE NOTE: Our Volunteer Program is for Adults Age 18 and older.  If you have children and would like them to get involved with the rescue, we have opportunities for that through our youth programs. What: Volunteer Orientation When: Saturday June 14th from 10am to Noon Where: Safe Harbor Sanctuary’s MAIN FOSTER FARM in Portland, TN Join Safe Harbor’s Volunteer Coordinator, Tara, and learn all about our newly revamped Volunteer Program at Safe Harbor’s first Volunteer Orientation at the new main farm.  This Volunteer Orientation will be an extra special event.  You’ll learn how to progress through our volunteer program to go from working with horses on the ground to eventually possibly riding.  It will be our first orientation at our beautiful new facility (though volunteer help is always needed at all of the satellite foster farms as well!).  We’ll be following up the orientation with our first Open House as well, so you can come for the morning orientation, or spend your whole day with Safe Harbor. When: April 27th from Noon-5pm Where: Paradise Ranch in Springfield, TN What: Safe Harbor Sanctuary’s Annual Picnic and Trail Ride Join us for a FAMILY FRIENDLY afternoon of horses, free food, craft vendors, horse tack and more!  Safe Harbor’s First Annual Picnic and Trail Ride is scheduled and is going to be an event you don’t want to miss! Riders–bring your horses.  Trails will be marked for beginner riders as well as intermediate for an afternoon of fun in the woods.  If you decide you need some new tack before or after your ride, just swing by our tack consignment sale for some new goodies for you and your steed! Non Riders–you won’t want to miss this.  With hiking trails, ponds, creeks, gazebos, a craft fair, picnic and silent auction you can spend the whole afternoon and never run out of things to do.
