I did not grow up around horses, rather I grew up in the city of Madrid Spain. My first experience with horses was the Spanish Mustanas (mustangs) the Andalusians, and Arabians. At the age of 18 I returned to the United States and began rodeoing for several years. It wasn’t until I met my wife and bought two untrained horses that I really started reading and studying the natural horsemanship methods. I jumped in with both feet learning all I could. I became a certified farrier in 2000 and began training horses at this time. I approach my training in a slow, quiet, and respectful manner. From ground manners to flexing, bending, breaking at the poll and moving off leg pressure. A few years back I bought a cutting horse property and now specialize in colt starting and ranch horses.
2014 I competed in and finished 3rd in my first Extreme Mustang Makeover, taking a wild mustang from wild to mild in 90 days. I have judged colt starting challenges and have hosted a few horsemanship clinics.
In 2015 I competed in the Extreme Mustang Makeover in Gainsville Ga. This time I won it and i took home the Champion Buckel and the Fan Favorite Buckle!!!
In 2016 Andy competed in and won Rally for the Rescues Trainer’s Challenge, competing with Cricket, a Safe Harbor horse!
This clinic is appropriate for auditors of all skill levels and participants with their own horse who are ready to advance their skills. Andy will work hands on with your horses, teaching you directly how to progress in training once you return home. Space is limited! Be sure to sign up today.
