RAIN OR SHINE

We’re hosting our biggest event to date, spanning 3 of our foster farms!
Start at our Training Center, where you’ll park and receive a wristband.
11:00 a.m. – FREE costume contest for the kids. Prizes will be awarded by age group.
Activities at the Training Center will include: huge tack sale, equine demonstrations, adoptable animals, zero-gravity, buggy rides and pony rides. Tickets for buggy rides ($10) and pony rides ($5) will be available on site or online for purchase.
A FREE SHUTTLE will transport you a short distance to two other fun-filled farms, with:
Vendors – come prepared to do some Christmas shopping!, kids’ game zone ($1/game or $5 unlimited), kiss-the-cow booth (photos for $1), petting farm (free, feed for $1), BBQ lunch ($5/plate), bounce house, additional equine training demos, retired racehorses — and more!
This is a family friendly event with free admission. Donations will be accepted and are appreciated.

Brittney Broadrick Photography will be hosting mini-sessions at the Safe Harbor Training Center on Saturday, September 15, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. These specially-priced sessions are available by appointment, and 75% of the proceeds will benefit Safe Harbor! Brittney has very generously donated the photo shoot of JoeBabe and she does beautiful work. If you’ve been wanting to have professional photographs made of your horse, don’t miss this special event! Additional information and appointments may be scheduled on Brittney’s website.

What: Basic Horsemanship Clinic

Are you considering adoption, but a first time horse owner and need to know more about horse handling and care before adoption? Maybe you just love horses, and want to know more about them? Already have a horse, but need more guidance? This clinic is for YOU and YOUR FAMILY.
ALL AGES ARE WELCOME (children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, this is a clinic, not horse camp).
Topics on the agenda include:
Approaching and haltering in field
Equine Body Language
Bits and Tack
Leg and Seat Pressure
Proper Feeding, Grooming and Daily Care
This is an awesome opportunity for horse beginners to interact 1:1 with our amazing training advisers and their horses. You’ll meet the fosters at the main farm during this event as well!

On Saturday October 19th we will be holding a HUGE 1 day Garage Sale to benefit the animals of Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Sanctuary. Donations for the sale are being accepted now, and we will also need volunteers for setup on Friday, and working the sale on Saturday.
